The Reality

Jim walked out of Peter and Saavik's room, looking positively ashen. Nyota Uhura spotted this, and helped him sit down.

"Jim--what's wrong?"

He looked at his long-time love, and just shook his head.

"Nyota, honey---I walked in on them. The kids. Having sex. He-he was pushing her against the bedpost, while  she pushed herself forward, her arms behind her head on the wall. Nyota, that rat-bastard is fucking my little girl!"

She touched his chest, and tried to calm him.

"Jim--that rat-bastard is your son. Child by blood, and adoption. Nephew by law? That's who is with your Grown-Up adopted daughter, and we both know that they've been together awhile. Your children married each other, Jim. There is so damned much of you in both of them, its no wonder they fell in love."

He didn't look up.

"That's not even the worst of it. As I watched them, my perspective shifted. I started rooting for Peter, thinking he should 'give it to her hard.' My God."

Nyota smiled.

"Well, he probably should give it to her hard. Soft just doesn't cut it."

He glared, so she backed off the humor.

"Jim, you are both parent and in-law. This is an awkward situation. But do you know in your heart that they will treat each other right?"

Now he smiled, kissed his woman, and went for a walk to clear his head. After he left, Nyota heard voices in the next room.

"HI-YO SILVER----AWAY!!!!"

Following was a mock-series of neighs and whinnies. Nyota put her head down on the couch.

"I reaaaalllllllllly didn't need to hear that."
