No Movie Tonite
by Rob Morris
Captain's Log : Despite the prospect of true openings between ourselves and the Melkotians, the events of that illusory world of Tombstone, Arizona, weigh heavily upon us all. Since Ensign Chekov is so popular with other young members of the crew, a general mild depression has entered the ship, as the story of his false death spreads. It eats at me, as well. Not even a true fate. Just a hellish limbo we all could have found ourselves in for eternity, had Spock not destroyed the illusion for us.

As a result, I have moved up cultural community activities scheduled for later this month. We have so far had Ktarian Line Dancing, Andorian Blade Puzzles, and Vulcan Fire Contemplation. It is now Terra's turn, and Spock's mother, The Lady Amanda, has sent us a print of a ancient vid from her family's library.

"Spock, what is this vid?"

"Captain, I must assume from the title that it is a romance."

McCoy nodded.

"Let it be sappy and gushing. Just so long as it gets our minds off of Tombstone, Arizona."

Chekov chimed in.

"Da. Both the town of Tombstone and the one that was placed above my head."

When the title came up, it was Scotty who went wide-eyed, and whispered to Kirk. Kirk then turned to Spock, who halted the vid while the credits still rolled. Kirk then stood up, resisting a glare at his dear friend.

"Sorry, everyone--but there'll be no movie tonite. For reasons I'm not prepared to explain right now, we will not be watching---'My Darling Clementine'."

McCoy tried to save the night.

"We could always do a sing-along....."
