Arrogance

It was a huge disappointment. Their first time being together, and the effects of their abuse by The Order chose then to really kick in. A boy who went limp. A girl who grew frigid. A simple act that was not to be at that time.

This did not stop them from trying again.

"Why? It is always hard in my mouth."

Peter turned and looked at her, almost glaring.

"Yeah? And your area's always warm and moist for me. Look--it just takes time. Maybe we rushed things. Maybe--you should move back into your room."

She stroked him, and grabbed the resulting erection.

"You were saying?"

But as Saavik went to begin oral sex once again, she noted something she hadn't before.

"You did not come---and yet there is fluid on the tip."

"Pre-ejaculate. I looked it up. So?"

Now, she glared.

"Peter, you were inside me! I had thought that your withdrawal would protect me from any consequences."

He sighed.

"Don't you get it? Saavik---we're sterile. Even with our physiology, all that junk they fed us to survive their games junked us inside. You said they specifically gave you drugs to keep your vaginal region tight. There's your answer. Tight pussy, no kids. Me? I have to be shooting blanks. God knows those female scumbags in the Admiralty didn't use protection. You think they wouldn't taunt me with my own kid?"

Saddened but also relieved, Saavik sank to all fours.

"Perhaps we had best test your theory."

But in 30 seconds, the revulsion kicked in once more.

"That---was fantastic."

"Indeed. A full half hour. I barely felt the urge to leave."

"Me---I just pushed it aside. Hey, before, when I told you about Sam's sterility and Jim's being my natural father, you said you had something to tell me."

This time getting on top of him, she smiled as she remounted him.

"Yes. It is time you knew. Uncle Jim is my father as well. We are siblings, Peter. Isn't that lovely? Hmmm?"

When she was able to revive Peter, an hour later, Saavik added that she had meant adopted. But Peter grew skeptical for a moment.

"Wait--if one tenth of the stories about Jim are true--how do you know its not by blood?"

She kissed him.

"Even if that were the case, you are not getting rid of me that easily."

"Yeah--but maybe--we should talk to T'Nia about protection--just in case--"

She covered his mouth.

"We are of different species. Cross mating is difficult in a lab setting. Now, brother---you pay--and pay."

"You mean you know about me and Saavik?"

Jim shrugged.

"The signs were all there. Tell me, Peter---what precautions do you two take?"

"None--she's a Vulcanoid, copper based blood. I'm iron based. That, plus about 10,000 years of evolution, puts us safely--"

Jim picked up his communicator.

"I'll be right there, Scotty. Peter--we have to discuss this when I'm done."

Except it was never brought up again.

"Saa-vik! All I'm saying is, the amount of times you two do it increases the risk of pregnancy like crazy, unless you use something. Even I know that."

But as usual, Saavik ignored anything uttered by Bunny Serenity. The pig-tailed girl growled.

"By the power of The Moon, I hope you get knocked up sooooo badddd...."

"Peter---if Pon Farr can not make it happen, then we should once and for all quit worrying."

"yeah. If that wild run didn't set us up, then I guess we're adopting."

"Errr..... may we get a puppy first?"

Cartwright listened to the eternal cycle of grunting and groaning through his bugs. The corrupt man shook his head.

"How the Hell do they find time to attack us? They should have a colony of rabbits by now!"

Penny Robinson sat and sulked as she looked at her dear friend, Saavik.

"Will and I restrict it to once a month at the nadir of my cycle, and I end up preggers. You and Peter hump between breaths, and no bambino. Is that justice?"

Saavik smiled a smile her friend wanted to cut off with a Bowie Knife.

"No---that is fate---that is luck. That is science. It is logical that we do not have your concerns."

The two sat stunned before Doctor McCoy.

"Mother---Half-Romulan?"

"Spock--my father--half-human?"

Peter looked at Saavik.

"I'm one quarter Rom---"

Saavik looked at Peter.

"I'm one quarter Hum---"

McCoy nodded.

"Yep. No species barrier. One half this, one half that---100%---Pregnant."

The two continued to stare at one another. Joy was intermixed with the memories of seven years coming back to haunt them, every arrogant word.

No prophecy ever said the Rock was infalliible. In the end, they were simply two young people who thought they knew what they were talking about.

They had been wrong.
