Premise : A TNG AU that takes off from the end of 'Generations' - Spoilers

Starting Over, Book One -

After the defeat of Soran, The Federation has lost one of its greatest legends - Enterprise-D Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Carrying Picard's body back to the wreck-site, the time-lost Captain Kirk collapses from exhaustion, leaving Picard's crew to grieve. One year later, we find that Starfleet, after its many losses, has put Kirk in Command of the E. Intrigue on the ship, near-war on DS9, a romance for Jim, three departures, three familiar but surprising replacements, and subplots aplenty follow.

Note : Chapter 5 had to be split into almost 10 parts, owing to time restrictions

A Doctor, Nothing Else - About a month later, the sad news of Leonard McCoy's death affects even those who did not know him.

Starting Over, Book Zero -

Flashes back to the D's wrecksite, with Kirk awakening to his new world. One of Picard's crew makes a startling accusation, and an old enemy is in dire need of defeat, which Kirk, Riker, et al, happily supply. Back on Earth, Kirk hooks up with a surviving crewmember, and gets his first look at the E.

Dark Encounter - Beverly is crushed by Jean-Luc's death and blames the man who came back - Kirk. Her anger leaves her isolated and vulnerable to attack. Occurs during the 'yet-to-come' SO: Captain And Crew

Tell Him - A week after 'A Doctor, Nothing Else', Deanna and Will have begun to rebuild their relationship. But Deanna also has a childhood crush on a certain legendary Captain, who has a surprise of his own. More subplots.

Still To Come :

SO-Captain And Crew - Completing 'Book Zero', as Admiral Uhura tries to re-recruit a reluctant Kirk to resume his first best destiny.

SO- Book Two - Sela, The Borg, and more as things kick into high gear. The treatment of this storyline is that of an imaginary ST sitcom
